1 Corinthians 13:4-7 -Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong doing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Amen!

god is love

As I ponder Valentines month, I am reminded that God is our source, even for things of love! I must believe and trust God will provide all of my needs according to His riches and glory, (Philippians 4:19)-and I believe that also covers my desire to have a partner in life-a husband. I have only dated a few men during the last 7 years in my new life in Christ. I pray daily for a spiritual leader and someone who has the desire to also be a ministry partner with me. I remember hearing on a Family Life today program one Valentines day, “when you are serving the Lord in ministry, look over to your left, or to your right, and see who is running right there alongside of you-in the same ministry or at the same pace with the same passion for the Lord Jesus as you and that may be the one God has provided for you”. Well, that has stuck with me and I believe that is in fact great advice.

I also remember reading helpful ministry books during my first engagement. I was married for a few years in 2003 to a wonderful man who shared my fitness interests but not so much my love for Jesus. We also struggled together in our alcohol and drug addictions and it destroyed our relationship. I was forced to leave the abusive marriage. But I was exposed to several great books called “The 5 Love Languages” and “His Needs Her Needs” where the author discusses the top 5 needs for men and the top 5 needs for women. (Reading these books together is a great idea!) This doesn’t mean we should have the same needs as our future spouse but it does mean we can be aware these are the most common needs that a man has so the woman can cater to those needs. And the man can be aware of the top 5 needs of women and focus on meeting her needs. We are not created equal and a common misunderstanding is trying to change the other to be just like us! But what I have learned is to appreciate the differences in the top needs of men and then focus on how I can best meet those needs, and of course honoring those few different needs in the dating vs marriage relationship😊

God will provide for us and Psalm 34 says "delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you your hearts desires" so I will continue praying and thanking God in advance for my future love! I believe and I receive my future spouse, Lord! Amen. Remember we are to practice love by loving God and loving others, these laws cover all the other ones!

Thank you for praying for our ministry and for those who struggle in life with unhealthy habits and addictions. Thank you for being a Fit Partner and thanks for praying for all Fit Partners everywhere as we encourage everyone to get fit for Kingdom service! Eat naturally, exercise daily, experience God, encourage others and enjoy life as much as possible~Happy Valentine’s month, Kate

John 3:16-17- “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
