Happy Spring into fitness~ Bathing suit weather is coming my friends! Oh joy! Summer is almost here, the heat, the sounds at night, the long days-I can hardly stand it! Now is the time to jump on to healthy daily habits and tips that will make your summer much sweeter!

1. Do we really need to eat everything on our plate?? The answer is NO NO NO! Our eyes are always larger than our stomach. Remember your stomach is the size of your fist and maybe your wrist:) Try to eat less and pray more! Be the one who tries to strike up intentional conversation with your dining buddies. And chew each savory bite 20 times with thankfulness for the healthy flavors God is giving you! This will make your body feel full much sooner. Fill up with useful, healthy calories from fruits and veggies and grass fed beef and fish and beans, not on man made words that you cannot pronounce on the labels.

2. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and seeds should be our new eating lifestyle~ Enjoy multi-lettuce salads with almonds and olive oil with blackened salmon on top! Or eating out offers more delicious gluten free bun and veggie burgers and other healthy substitutes. Or choose a salad with avocado, dressing on the side (so you can add less!. Look in the sides section for rice and beans or a vegetable plate or a chilled soup. I found gnocchi, which is usually made from potatoes (instead of white pasta) served with red sauce and basil-yum! Fish tacos are another healthy suggestion this time of year. Practice eating half for lunch then half later. Restaurants serve HUGE portions just to be able to charge high prices. And drink more water!

3. Start each day taking probiotics. Ancient Nutrition has a nice one or I take Dr. Ohhira's, Essential Formulas Inc., Probiotics every morning. It keeps me regular and I know it is keeping my gut healthy.

4. Walk walk walk. Wake up and walk. After your fish tacos-walk around the restaurant parking lot before you get into your car! Take an after dinner walk. Walking is so good for us, it will become an amazing healthy habit for you and your family! Jesus walked EVERYWHERE!:)

4. Find a new exercise that you fall in love with and will desire it more. I love biking. I have received an electric birthday bike from a partner! It will help me climb the steep bridge as I use a slight pedal assist for this. Also, its Paddle board weather again so I enjoy paddling my canal or taking it to the beach where I can see fish, manatees and other excitement in the water! Try something new this summer! And find something you enjoy doing while talking to God, praying or listening to good Bible teaching.

5. Serve others! Serving will make you feel awesome and get you out of your head and into your heart! Sometimes we eat out of boredom when our community have so many needs we could spend that quality time instead! We have built in needs to be around others who can lift us and we can also encourage them. There are many ways to serve just ask someone in your church about greeting, serving in the children's ministry, the parking ministry, radio stations-such great opportunities to be used by God and make new friends! Come to Calvary Chapel Vero Beach, Fl or a Bible teaching church near you.

6. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18-Always be joyful. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus! Joyfully ask God to help you with any area where you are struggling. And by faith, believe it will be done.

7. Read your daily One Year Bible readings with your church or log onto oneyearbibleonline.com for daily readings to feed your Spirit, renew your mind and strengthen your body!
